If you grew up in the 1960s or 1970s...you remember this - Life in America
Life looks much different today than it did in the sixties and the seventies. Today retro usually refers to things that happened in the eighties, but if you grew up in the 1960s or 1970s, these things aren't retro; they were a way of life.
Relax In The Back
Back in the sixties, seat belts were optional, as were actual seats. Almost every family had a station wagon and you could climb in the back and do whatever you wanted to. This led to many cherished childhood memories. Even the baby could be placed in a makeshift crib in the backseat to make long drives a little better for everyone.
Twister
Back in the sixties getting to second base was near impossible unless you were playing a game of Twister in which case your dreams could accidentally come true. This is likely one reason that this game took off so fast. There was no end to the positions that players could find themselves in and that was half the charm of the game.
Cigarette Vending Machines
Health was not a huge concern in the seventies, and most people didn't realize what bad effects smoking could have on your health. Therefore, right next to a Pepsi machine was a cigarette vending machine offering up your mom's favorite menthols. Its not surprising that a lot of kids from that time period also took up smoking.
