Sophia's interest in fitness started at the age of four when her parents began signing her up for multiple activities with other kids. When Sophia was fifteen, she performed as a professional ballet dancer for the San Francisco Ballet and gained further experience in working out by practicing her dance moves.

For Sophia Rose, ballet became a hard struggle. She found that she was beginning to suffer the exact same fate as other young women her age in that she had to remain super thin in order to participate. After four years of being unhappy, she made a clean break. She quit the San Francisco Ballet and began to study boxing.

For Sophia Rose, boxing proved to be far more fun than ballet. She found that she could get away with eating more and not have to deal with excessive body shaming. Although she knew it to be a sport that was almost exclusively male, it didn't deter her in any way. She went on to use her ballet training in many of her moves. It helped in developing a tone and a physique for her career as a fitness coach.
